Symptom

SAP Analytics Cloud gives the error "Failed to call SAP Analytics Cloud agent" when trying to import date from on-premise data sources.

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Install SAP Platform Cloud Connector and SAP Analytics Cloud Agent
  2. Connect SAP Platform Cloud Connector to your SAP Analytics Cloud Tenant
  3. Connect SAP Platform Cloud Connector to your SAP Analytics Agent
  4. Configure your SAP Analytics Cloud Agent
  5. Configure SAP Analytics Cloud Agent properties in your SAP Analytics Cloud Tenant
  6. Successfully import data from an on premise data source
  7. Modify the tomcat-users.xml file on the deployment hosting SAP Analytics Cloud Agent
  8. Restart the Tomcat deployment hosting SAP Analytics Cloud Agent
  9. Notice the error

Cause

Malformed tomcat-users.xml prevents SAP Analytics Cloud from being able to connect to SAP Analytics Cloud Agent hosted there

Resolution

Revert your tomcat-users.xml to the state in which SAP Analytics Cloud worked.
