2732197 - Lifecycle management (Import/Export) between quarterly (QRC) and bi-weekly Release Cycle SAP Analytics Cloud Systems

Symptom

  • It is required to import content from a bi-weekly release cycle (RC) SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) system to a quarterly release cycle (QRC) SAC system or vice versa.
  • This cannot be performed, as per the following information in the Deployment page of our online help:
"Content can only be imported in the same version of the application from which it was exported, or the subsequent version (+1).
After your system is upgraded again, you cannot import the content."
  • You may see this error when trying to import an unsupported package:
Cause: The content you are importing is not supported in this version. Please delete this package.

  • Affected workflows:
    • Importing content created by partners.
    • Importing content for customers moving their system from an SAP to a non-SAP datacenter.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud

Cause

  • SAC is on a Quarterly Release Cycle to align with SAP’s global strategy for cloud application releases.
  • Bi-weekly RC and QRC systems will have more than a one version difference (see exceptions below) meaning that content cannot be moved between them.
