2425006 - Supportability of Apache Reverse Proxy and PATH connectivity option for Live Data Connections in SAP Analytics Cloud

• Requirements:
• Connect to HANA on-premise database with a reverse proxy or
• Connect to an SAP (BI) Universe via the BOE Live Data Connect via a reverse proxy.
• SAML Identity Provider (IDP) and recommended reverse proxy is Apache.
• The PATH option is not available in the SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) system to set up Live Data Connections via Reverse Proxy.

• SAP Analytics Cloud
• Apache server 2.4.23 or higher

SAP Analytics Cloud does not support the PATH connectivity option via reverse proxy.

Creation of live connections via the direct method is supported. Refer to the following blogs for more information:

• The Apache Software Foundation distributes the Apache web server free of charge.
• When you install and use the Apache web server you agree to follow the terms and conditions provided by Apache.

• SAP Product Support does not support the Apache web server.

Installation guide for Windows

• As mentioned on the Apache HTTP Web site, the Apache HTTP Server Project itself does not provide binary releases of software, only source code.
• For Windows, they offer a list of popular options to deploy the server.

Installation Guide for Linux

• Different Linux distributions have different Apache HTTP server versions and installers.
• Refer to the distribution documentation to follow the steps required to install and configure Apache HTTP server, OpenSSL and required modules.
• Please, consult with your vendor to install Apache and configure it to support HTTPS.
