2928436 - Ship-to party cannot be found exactly with limited length of name - SAP S/4HANA Cloud

When you create a sales order and enter the name 1 of the business partner for the ship-to party, it might not lead to an exact result in case there are multiple business partners whose names start the same.No ship-to partner is entered automatically because there is not one exact match.
For example, when you search for a ship-to party with the name 1 “business partner name test”, there will be several business partners listed. The name 1 is not displayed in full.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

1. Open the "Create Sales Orders" app.
2. Enter the ship-to party with a known business partner name.
3. In the search results, multiple business partners are displayed as the fuzzy search finds several hits. The system cannot select a single ship-to party.

If we click into the details of the business partner, we can see that only the first part of the business partner name is read. This is standard design. The field “Name 1” is limited to 35 characters and will not read the full name maintained in the “Maintain Business Partner” app.

To have the system select the correct ship-to party, enter the business partner number, instead of the name 1.
