2903029 - User is Unable to Edit Template in Cloud for Customer System

Symptom

You would like to understand the reason for some users not being able to edit templates created by other users in the Cloud for Customer system.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Service work center.
  2. Navigate to Templates work center view.
  3. Select the desired template.
  4. Click Edit.
  5. See that it is not possible to edit any detail as the fields are grayed out.

Cause

This is the standard behavior of the system.

Resolution

The Template Behavior works in the following way depending on the type of user:

Administrator Users (user who has Administration work center assigned):

  • Can see all templates, regardless of who created them.
  • Can edit any template in the system, regardless of who created them.

Non-Administrator Users:

  • Can see all templates, regardless of who created them.
  • Can edit only templates created by the user himself.

In addition, only an administrator user can create or edit corporate templates in the system.
