2894350 - Dimensions are failed to be imported when import the tgz file second time in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)


  • The tgz file is the exported content from a tenant which contains a model and several dimensions. (including both Public dimension and normal dimension)
  • When import this tgz file into another tenant (version is the same), the 1st time import will be successful.
  • Import the tgz file once again, check on Import option Replace existing objects, some dimensions will be failed at this time import.
  • Error message for the failed is: can't convert undefined to object

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to SAP Analytics Cloud tenant.
  2. Go to Deployment -> Import
  3. Select the tgz file to import, notice in the 1st time all objects are imported successfully.
  4. Import the same tgz file again.
  5. Check on Import option Replace existing objects and import.
  6. Notice this time some dimensions (including Public dimensions) are failed to import this time.
  7. Click Error link, in the Information dialog the message below is shown.
    can't convert undefined to object
