2889293 - Cannot Change CPD Account Group in SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Symptom

Error "Switch to account group &1 not possible" is raised when trying to change a Customer Business Partner from the CPD account group.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Try to change the account group from CPD to another Account Group
  2. The system raises the error "Switch to account group &1 not possible" message number CVIV_UI178

Cause

The CPD Customer Account group is a "One-Time" account group so it is not possible to change another account group. This is hardcoded into the system

Resolution

  1. Achieve and Delete the CPD Customer Business Partner
  2. Re-create the Customer in the desired new account group
