Symptom

Freeze Column setting is lost after changing the filter value in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2020.2

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Prepare a very large dataset in Model.
  2. Based on this model, create a story and place a table to display the data.
  3. Add a Filter and select one value to filter data.
  4. Select the table cell and choose Freeze -> Freeze up to column to freeze the columns.
  5. Save this Story now.
  6. Change the Filter value, select one value which may return huge data and then error comes as:
    The data cannot be displayed because the query returned too many records. Please try filtering your data.
  7. Change the Filter value back to the previous one.
  8. The table data is shown again. However, there is no column freeze any more.

Cause

This issue is currently under investigation by development.
