2881857 - Error when using javascript code to publish or revert a version when creating an Analytical application in SAP Analytics Cloud for Planning (SAC)

Symptom

When trying to use javascript in an analytical application to publish data there is an error message that planning is not enabled even though the model is correctly configured for planning.

If you use the standard publish icon from the toolbar it works.

This happen after upgrade to the 2020.01

The following error occurs:

The operation cannot be performed on the model, because it is not planning enabled.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2020.01

Reproducing the Issue

In an Analytics Designer application use the standard code provided in the SAP Analytics Cloud help:

Table_1.getPlanning().setEnabled(true);

var bpcVersion = Table_1.getPlanning().getPublicVersion("All Versions");

if (bpcVersion) {

if(bpcVersion.isDirty()) {

bpcVersion.publish();

};

};

Same error occurs if using the Revert code.

Cause

This issue is a regressive defect found in 2020.01

Resolution

It will be resolved in 2020.02 and later releases
