2855572 - Unable to import Candidate Profiles through Legacy Data import - Recruiting Management

Symptom

Unable to do a Legacy Import of Candidate Profiles in Provisioning. Receive the following error message in Job Details:

(candidate email address) : Value (picklist label) of field (fieldID) is invalid for picklist (picklistID).

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Resolution

This issue is being investigated by our Engineering team to try to understand the root cause (internal task number: RCM-70585)

Workaround: for now, the workaround is to remove the parent-field association in the Candidate Profile Template. If this parent-child relationship also exists in the picklist, it doesn't affect the import. By just removing the parent-field association from the Candidate Profile Template, it will work the import.

Example:

Currently, the state field is configured as:

<picklist-id parent-field-id="country">state</picklist-id>

This "parent-field" association, for some reason, is causing an issue while importing the candidates.

If we modify it to <picklist-id>state</picklist-id>, the import occurs successfully.

After doing the import, Engineering team has stated that it's needed to restore the parent-field association to the Candidate Profile Template because depending on the field the system is expecting a parent-child relationship (such as fieldID state).
