SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management - All versions
Reproducing the Issue
- Access "Edit Applicant Status Configuration";
- Access the desired applications status set;
- Within the list of statuses, click one to get into the editing page of that status;
- Perform the labeling change (see the fields below);
- Click "Save" and get the error message.
This is current under Development team analysis (RCM-66722), so we may better understand how the system is designed to behave and make it consistent. As of now, it is not possible to add status labels larger than 100 characters. In addition to that, when attempting to relabel the Referrer Label, the system is not automatically preventing the user from adding characters from the 101st onwards, then, upon saving, the system will give you an "Error occurred" message.
This article will be updated within the following weeks as for how we should address it, please stay tuned. In the meanwhile, please proceed using labels that do not exceed the 100 characters count.
Note: As we have all the information we need to be able to work on it right now, in case you have just noticed this behavior in your system, please have in mind that it is not necessary to have a support incident open for this.
UPDATE: Our Development team has decided they are going to add a cap to the Referrer Label, just as we already have to Internal Label and Candidate Label. It is going to be an 100 characters cap, defined by them as the most suitable length to this sort field. This is going to be released in our b1908 release, dated to August 09th (Stage) and September 06th (Production).
