2806264 - The Industry value is not passed when converting a Lead into an Account

You have added via adaptation mode the field Industry to the Lead-Account conversion screen. You maintain a value in this field. However, when the lead is converted, the field Industry appears empty.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales work center.
  2. Go to the Lead view.
  3. Open a lead which has not been converted yet.
  4. Click on Actions > Convert to Account and Contact.
  5. Add the "Industry" field to this screen via the Adaptation Mode.
  6. Select a value for this field.

  7. Click on Save and Open.
RESULT: The "Industry" field in the account is empty.

All fields which are added to the Master Layout from the list "Add Other Fields" (not "Add Fields") do technically not belong to Leads.

Therefore, these fields are blank in the conversion screen. However, the system allows the user to manually select a value in the conversion screen. Nevertheless, this value is then set according to the TI value that this field belongs to.
In this example, if you add the field Industry to the conversion screen, this field belongs technically to the Account and the value in the Account is still not created. Hence, the field will appear blank.

Please, let the users know that they should not add fields displayed in the Adaption mode in “Add Other Fields” since they are not valid for Account Information.
