2804312 - Getting intermittent error messages in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) when refreshing a chart base on Hana

Symptom

Frequently when trying to refresh data from a Story based on a Hana Live Connection by opening the Story or selecting different data from a filter on the page, some charts do not return data, but show some intermittent error messages like these:

  • "Can not retrieve data from data source

    Erro:[Internal Server Error]"

  • "Erro: [Protocol Error: Error [Protocol]: (#73) Bad Gateway

     Error [Protocol ]:(#502) Bad Gateway"

After refreshing the Story, the error messages may dissapear and the charts display data.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud 2019.8.11

Reproducing the Issue

1. Log into the Customer SAC Tenant.

2. Open a story with the issue.

3. At the first page some charts display data but others do not just showing one of the mentioned error messages.

4. After refreshing the Story , the chart with the error message may display data but another chart  displays other of the listed error messges.

5. Changing the parameters on the filters and refreshing the story may get data for all the charts.

The behavior is intermittent.

This issue is currently under investigation by Development.
