2796076 - How to edit or create a custom block in People Profile

This article should help the customer that are searching how to edit a custom block, how to create a custom block, how to edit a portlet or block, how to create a block in the Configure People Profile.

This article can help if you are having problems with links in Configure People Profile too. If you don't know how to add links or if the link isn't appearing or working, you can found the resolution here too.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Profile 

1. Open the instance;
2. Go to Configure People Profile;
3. Choose the Custom Block that you want to add in the portlet. You can edit the blocks or create new custom block;

4. Click on the three lines on the left of the block as displayed on the screenshot and drag to the place you want it to be displayed in the profile; 
5. To edit the custom block, you need to click on the three lines on the left of the block as displayed on the screenshot and click save after you change all the modifications that you want to do. 

Note: If you want to add or edit some Background Element, you need to enable the BCUI or open an case to LOD-SF-EP create this new Background Element by XML.

Note 2: The "Block Size" setting is only available for Background Information Block with type BACKGROUND_BLOCKS. 

If you want to create a new portlet, please follow the steps bellow:

1. Choose the portlet that you want to create and drop between two blocks. You need to insert between the blocks and wait some seconds. (Note: You can change the position after you create the portlet just dragging the box).

• LINKS 

If you are experiencing some issue when you try to add a link in a portlet in Configure People Profile, please follow the tips bellow: 

1. Go to Configure People Profile; 
2. Create a new portlet with the same configuration; 

3. Save; 
4. Close the instance; 
5. Reopen the instance;
6. Access some profile and click in the pencil; 

7. Test if the new portlet are showing the link.

Note: If this solution not work, please open an case to LOD-SF-EP-CPP.
