As part of the 2019Q1 a new feature has been implemented. Now it is possible to track candidate correspondence directly in the candidate profile. With this functionality, a new button to contact the candidate has been added to the candidate profile and to the correspondence section in the application page. However, when accessing the application page, the contact (Send Email) candidate button implemented in the correspondence section is not respecting the permission configured in the job requisition template.
Users that did not have access to the contact candidate within the application page, are now able to use this extra button as shown in the following image:

Reproducing the Issue
- Contact Candidate button is configured and restricted for few roles as described in this article 2393521
- Log into the system using one of the roles that should not see the contact candidate button
- Select a Job Requisiton
- Go to the candidates tab
- Select an application
- The Send Email button is available
Once this feature was designed, it was not made to consider the permissions configured for the existing contact candidate button.
As of now, our Product Management team is evaluating this behavior and they will define how to address it. We will keep this article updated with the latest information we receive from Product Management team.
There is no workaround as of now for this behavior.
