2768239 - 'Create Follow-Up Sales Contract from Sales Quotes' Feature is Not Working as Expected, Status and Progress Fields are Not Updated Accordingly.

Symptom

The feature 'Create Follow-Up Sales Contract from Sales Quotes' is not working as expected. After you created the follow up contract, the Progress field of the Sales Quote is not updated as 'Won', or the Status is not updated to 'Completed'.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Sales Quote ABC. (ABC represents the sales quote ID)
  2. Go to Sales Document facet
  3. Under Contracts section, click New to create a new sales contract.
  4. Save the contract.
  5. After the creation, go back to the Sales Quote ABC and check the Progress field, it's not updated to Won.

Cause

Automatic setting of the quote progress and status takes place only for quotes with product items. And the standard behaviro is as below:

  1. Case1: quote contains only product items ( with or without main items ): Status changes to 'Completed', Progress changes to 'Won'.
  2. Case2: quote contains only text items: Status = 'Open', Progress = 'Pending'. For quote with Only Text items, the quote progress can however be set manually from the UI.
  3. Case3: quote contains both text and product items: Status = 'In process', Progress = 'Won'.

In Case2 and 3, to set the status to 'Completed', the action 'set as won' needs to be called (  manually from the UI ).

Resolution

This is current behavior, our product management team will also check whehter automatically setting the status to 'Completed' for all the above cases is adapted for all business cases.
