2767420 - "[Application error]:Script error" appears when trying to link dimensions in SAP Analytics Cloud


  • When trying to link dimensions, the following error message occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
    "[Application error]:Script error"
  • From the Google Developer Tool, the following error can be observed:
    "Uncaught Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression."

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Logon to SAC.
  2. Open a Story.
  3. Try to link dimensions using the "Link Dimensions" option from the toolbar.
  4. Notice that if you click on a dimension, the application error appears. 


The issue is caused by a defect in the product.


  • The issue is fixed in Wave 2019.08 for customers on Bi-Weekly release cycle.
  • The issue is fixed in Q2 for customers on Quarterly release cycle.
