Resolution

What is a site map?

It is a helper for a search engine to be able to find the important pages faster. Instead of having to navigate through 3 or 4 links to find a specific page, the sitemap is giving the direct links to the search engine system. That is why using a Sitemap should help with SEO.

How do we find them in Career Site Builder?

Under the page CSB / Global / Settings / Site, you will find the information Site Map, Main and Category.

You can click on these links to see the sitemap that has been generated automatically.

The system updates these Sitemaps every week.

How to use the sitemaps?

To use the full potential of a sitemap, they need to be shared with the different search engines.

The URLs would look like this:

For the Career Site URL: jobs.testingsite.com
Main Sitemap: jobs.testingsite.com/testingsitemap.xml
Category Sitemap: jobs.testingsite.com/cat_testingsitemap.xml

For Google and Bing, there is a process on their side to "Verify Ownership" before you can share the sitemap.

For other search engines, there might be a similar process. You will need to follow their process to share the sitemap on their sites.

You can also contact Professioanl Services if you need more information about this subject. Professional Services can also transmit the Site Maps to the search engines if needed. For this case, it SHOULD NOT be performed via a Product Support Ticket (Incident).
