2755788 - SDK / PDI Extension Fields Not Visible in Data Source

Symptom

You extended SDK / PDI extension fields into a Data Source. However, you can only see these extension fields in the Data Source when logged as PDI User. Business Users cannot see these fields.

Environment

  • SAP Cloud for Customer
  • SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Once the extension fields are created and extended from SDK, log into the system as PDI User.
  2. Go to Business Analytics work center.
  3. Go to Design Data Sources view.
  4. Open the Data Source XYZ (XYZ represents the data source name).
  5. You can find all the fields extended from SDK.
  6. Log into system as Business User.
  7. Repeat steps 2 to 4.
  8. You cannot find the SDK fields.

Cause

The most common cause for this behavior is when you did not activate the solution in SDK and did not scope the same in the system Business Configuration.

Resolution

  1. Open the SAP Cloud Applications Studio (SDK).
  2. Select for the relevant Solution ID.
  3. On the tool bar, select Administration.
  4. Click on the Implementation Manager option.

  1. Click on the arrow down from first icon and Select Assemble and Download.

  1. Log into the system.
  2. Go to Business Configuration work center.
  3. Go to Implementation Projects view.
  4. Click on Edit Project Scope.
  5. Proceed to step 4. Questions.
  6. Select the Scoping Element relevant to your SDK solution.
  7. Drill down until the Question relevant to your SDK solution.
  8. Review the Question by marking the checkbox.
  9. Save the changes.
