2728762 - Job Requisition template name translation is being overwritten by the default template name.

Symptom

For our job requisition template, the template name translation in a certain language is being constantly overwritten by the default template name.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Cause

The language you are trying to translate the job requisition template name in is the default language of the instance.

Resolution

To maintain consistency the default template name should always be the same as the translation of the template name in the default language, otherwise the template name translation will be overwritten by the default template name. For example, if my default language is English US and the default template name is "Permanent Employees" but the en_Us label is "Permanent Employees & Teleworkers" then the en_US label will be changed to "Permanent Employees".

This is expected behavior due to a product limitation. There are currently two ways to solve this issue:

  1. The first is to change the default language to another language that uses the same template name as the default name, allowing you to translate the template name in the desired language.
  2. The other is to create a new requisition template with the same default template name as the template name translation for the default language, since you cannot change the default name without creating a new requisition template.

If you would like to change this behavior please create an enhancement request.
