Symptom

For permanent time accounts, in adminster time the account history by year table has a different value for taken absences from the actual number of leaves taken that year

Reproducing the Issue

Step 1:  Go to Time off / Time sheet /Administer Time in employee file

 Step 2:  Select a permanent time account

 Step 3:  Verify data in Account History by Table

Cause

This is an expected behavior

Resolution

"Account History by Year" table has 3 columns. Please find the description on how values are calculated for each of these columns.

Earned – Value will be calculated by taking into account all the postings (like Manual Adjustment, Entitlement, Accruals etc) which are relevant for the balance calculation. Here, we would consider the postings on a yearly basis and then calculate the value per year.

Taken Absences - Value will be calculated by taking into account all the absences booked against the last Earned balance in the table.

Paid out – Value  will be calculated by taking into account all the payouts booked against last Earned balance in the table.

Here, Posting date of Payouts and Absences will not be considered for calculation of the above values. Instead, we consider the previous year's earned balance, if available.

Below example will explain in detail:

Time Account –> Start Date = Jan 1, 2015, Permanent Account. Annual Frequency of 10 hours is earned by the user since 2015.

Now, if the 5 hours of Absence is requested in Feb 1, 2017, it will be posted against the balance earned in 2015 (as it is available).

As of Jan 1, 2018,  "Account History by Year" Table will look like this

Now, if another absence of 10 hours is requested in Mar 1, 2017, it will be posted against the balances earned in 2015 and 2016.
