You are unable to change/edit the Responsible OrgUnit of a released Project in the Project Management work center.
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the work center Project Management.
- Go to the view Projects, sub view Projects.
- Show All Projects.
- Find the project XYZ.
- Click Edit and select Project Plan.
- Observe the field Responsible unit on tab Project Plan, sub tab Accounting.
Note that the field Responsible unit is grayed out.
The Profit center shown in the project is derived from the responsible unit/ Cost center once a project status is set to Started or Released, the responsible unit is “Read-Only”.However, when we create a project, we also create a snapshot for accounting where all the data is also stored, and the profit center we see on the UI reflects this snapshot. When the Org Unit was marked as a profit center, the project snapshot had already been sent to accounting and does not get updated (we don't expect changes like these).
Please note that any actuals posted before this change will still have the old profit center.
It is recommended to ensure that all org centers are correctly assigned before using them in a project.
