Symptom

  • When trying to add users manuallly via manage users we get an unresponsive error
  • When we view users manuallly via manage users we get an unresponsive error

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Admin Center
  2. Manage Users
  3. Add New User
  4. Quick Add
  5. Experience long response time / unresponsiveness as below:

Cause

When we try to add a user or view the existing user records, the browser will request and initialize the data for Department, Time Zone and Location. In this situation the browser takes very long time to show the corresponding UI window.  This could be caused by a large number of Departments, Time Zones or Locations configured in the system.

Resolution

We need to check if all the departments, time zones and locations that are being used are necessary.

  1. Admin Center
  2. Employee Export
  3. Export User File
  4. Remove all unnecessary Department, Time Zone and Locations 
  5. Once the excess fields have been removed please try to add / view the users again
