Despite setting a role as unique for Activities in the Business Configuration, you are able to add the same role more than once. The system triggers the error message: "Please use not more than 1 party(ies) of role Employee Responsible."
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
The issue can occur in many views which concern Activities, for example Tasks, Visits, etc.
Below is an example from the BO Tickets where an activity is created:
Go to the Service work center.
- Go to the Tickets view.
- Open the Ticket ABC (ABC represents the Ticket ID).
- Go to the Visits tab.
- Select the New button.
- The error message "Please use not more than 1 party(ies) of role Employee Responsible." is triggered.
When a Visit is created from a Service Ticket, the Activity business object receives the parties that are passed during the copy process from the Ticket. Since there are two Service Technicians maintained in the Ticket ABC, this is resulting in the error message on Visit creation.
Activities are lenient regarding the employee responsible since they are often connected to other BOs where another Employee responsible might be maintained and necessary.
This is the expected system behaviour. As a work around, the extra entry could be removed via PDI.
Development plan to improve this behaviour in a future release. As of now, there is no set date for implementing this feature.
