2698217 - Account Search using the External ID field in Advanced filter does not support Alphanumeric Values

Symptom

When an Account with Alphanumeric External ID is searched by entering the value in the External ID field in the Advanced filter, there are no search results.

Reproducing the Issue

Suppose you have Accounts which are replicated to C4C with Alphanumeric External ID.

  1. Go to Customers Workcenter.
  2. In the Accounts view, select the Query as All Accounts.
  3. In the Advanced filter, Enter the Alphanumeric External ID of an Account in the External ID field.
  4. Click the Search button.

You will notice that there are no search results though the Account with that External ID exists.

Cause

The Alpha Numeric conversion during search is not supported for the Account External ID field.

Resolution

Account search based on Alphanumeric External ID is not supported and it is a standard behavior.
