2692082 - Duplicate Page Functionality in Career Site Builder - Recruiting Marketing

Symptom

This article explains the Duplicate Page functionality in Career Site Builder.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Marketing (RMK)

Resolution

Both Home and Content Pages in CSB are able to be duplicated.

Duplicating Home Pages

Each locale/brand combination can have a single Home Page. Pressing Duplicate Page on an existing Home Page brings up a modal that asks for two items:

  1. Locale
  2. Brand

Each of these are drop downs that are populated with all of the available Locales and Brands. They are defaulted to the Site default locale and main (default) brand.

When the user hits save it verifies that there is no existing Home page. If one exists, it informs the user of this in two ways:

  1. The drop downs will have a red highlight around them, indicating an error state. This also will occur when the user sets the Locale and Brand to a combination that already has an existing Home Page.
  2. A message appears below the modal, stating that a Home Page already exists for the Locale/Brand combination.

If no Home Page exists for that Locale/Brand combination, the components on the page to be duplicated are copied to a new Home Page and saved to the server. The user is then redirected to their new Home Page and can begin modifying it. The navigation on the left is also updated to reflect the user's new location.

Duplicating Content Pages

Each Locale/Brand combination can have numerous Content Pages. The only limitation is that the Title/Locale/Brand combination must be unique. Pressing Duplicate Page on an existing Content Page brings up a modal that asks for three items:

  1. Title
  2. Locale
  3. Brand

The Title is a text box and the Locale and Brand are drop downs that are populated with all of the available Locales and Brands. They are defaulted to the Site default locale and Main (default) brand. Page name must be unique and contain no spaces or special characters.

When the user hits save it verifies that there is no existing Content Page with the same Title/Locale/Brand combination. If there it, the user is notified in two ways:

  1. The Title text field will have a red highlight around it, indicating an error state. This also will occur when the user sets the Title/Locale/Brand to a combination that already has an existing Content Page.
  2. A message appears below the modal, stating that a Content Page already exists for that name.

If no Content Page exists for that Title/Locale/Brand combination, the components on the page to be duplicated are copied to a new Content Page and saved to the server. The user is then redirected to their new Content Page and can begin modifying it. The navigation on the left is also updated to reflect the user's new location.
