2692028 - How the Internal Flag Works for Opportunity Involved Parties

Symptom

You have doubts related to the behavior of the Internal flag observed in the Involved Parties for Opportunities.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. In the search box, type Opportunities and press Enter OR click in the Go button.
  3. Open the Opportunities hyperlink in the Configuration Element results table.
  4. Open the Maintain Involved Parties hyperlink.

You wonder what is the behavior of the Internal column.

Resolution

The Internal flag is used to include the party role in the Sales Team view of the opportunity in case this role category is of type Other Party.

In the case the role is a Partner Contact Party, it will be included in the Sales Team view of the opportunity without the need to flag it as Internal. Explicitly, if the role category of the role is any of the following, it will be displayed in the Sales Team list automatically: Employee Responsible Party, Sales Employee Party, Partner Contact Party, Employee Responsible (Account Hierarchy), Approver Party or Account Team Member.

The Party Role Category (Other Party or Partner Contact) can be seen in the Party Role Definition Business Configuration Fine-tuning Activity, in the Party Category column.
