2686158 - Error when viewing Curricula for certain users snapshot

Symptom

When in LMS admin and clicking on Curricula for certain users one of the below errors appear {Dependant on System Admin -> System Configuration -> LMS_ADMIN -> reportStackTraceToUser}:

  • {reportStackTraceToUser=false} 
    A communication error has occurred. Please log in again.
  • {reportStackTraceToUser=true}
    Failure: [FaultEvent fault=[RPC Fault faultString="com.plateausystems.elms.util.helper.ElmsUncheckedException : java.text.ParseException: Unparseable data: "" at:" faultCode="Server.Processing" faultDetail="null"] messageId="<some alphanumeric string>" type="fault" bubbles=false cancelable=true eventPhase=2]

 

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS) - 1805 and earlier

Cause

When certain curricula with 9 line items when all contents is expanded (including the folder lines), it can sometimes but not always expose the possible bug/defect when assigned to users.

Resolution

  1. Check the curricula assigned to the user either by User Proxy to see their learning plan or using curriula reports.
  2. Any curricula with 9 line items or more when all contents in edit mode is expanded can be possible cause.
  3. Either edit the contents to remove some or create the curricula again and reassign. 
  4. Issue targeted to be resolved in b1811 via investigation in LRN-44194
