Using Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge, opening a story with a direct live data connection fails with a toast "Failed to connect to system"
For SAML SSO, the browser prompts the user if it is ok to close the popup window. SAC displays a toast to enable popups.
The browser console shows Error: Error [Protocol]: (#73)
The browser console shows SCRIPT7002: XMLHttpRequest: Network Error 0x80070005
The story works fine in Chrome
- SAP Analytics Cloud 2018
- Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Microsoft Edge
Reproducing the Issue
Create a story in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) that uses direct live data connection. Open the story in Internet Explorer or Edge.
Under Internet Options > Security, SAC and the remote system are in different security zones.
Open the menu Internet Options > Security, assign your SAC URL and the live data source system URL to be in the same security zone (i.e. both can be added to the Trusted Sites list).
You can configure Microsoft Edge to use Internet Explorer for your connections to your SAC tenant and data sources.
