2661947 - Unable to merge users due to pending approvals

When attempting to use the Merge Users tool, the following validation error is presented:

• You cannot merge from User [ID] because this user has pending approvals that must be approved or denied prior to the merge. Please close out all pending approvals then try the merge again.

1. Go to People >
2. Merge Users >
3. Search for the users that will be merged >
4. Proceed with the merge and see the validation error >
5. However if you check on the User record, there are no pending approvals.

1. Go to System Administration >
2. Automatic Processes >
3. Deny Expired Approval Processes >
4. Enable the Automatic Process and run the job >
5. Merge the Users.
