2647665 - How to change from a custom SAML Identity Provider to a different custom IdP in SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

  • You changed from the default SAP Cloud Identity to your own custom SAML Identity Provider (IdP)
  • You want to move to a different custom SAML IdP

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud 2018

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the menu System > Administration > Security tab
  2. Upload the new metadata.xml from your new SAML IdP
  3. Validate the account
  4. Save the changes

The changes are not saved and you are still using your old custom SAML IdP

Cause

This issue is a known limitation and development is working in a solution that will be available soon.

Resolution

You need to roll back to SAP Cloud Identity (default) before changing to a new SAML IdP.

  1. Log on using the System Owner account and go to System > Administration > Security > select "SAP Cloud Identity (default)"
  2. Save the changes

This action will roll back your SAP Analytics Cloud tenant to the default authentication.

Follow the steps indicated in the product's guide to configure your new SAML IdP.
