2638776 - Segment Ordering numbering within a Scheduled Offering

Symptom

In a scheduled offering there can be multiple segments. How are the numbers associated with segments assigned.

Environment

SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS) - All Supported Versions

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to System Admin > Learning > Scheduling Offerings > Create New
  2. Add segments today and add segments a consecutive day.
  3. Note the segments aren't ordered numerically.

Resolution

When an admin adds a new segment to the offering, LMS will use the next available sequence number from the PSQ_SCHED_SEGMENT table and uses it for SSG_SEG_NUM.

The SSG_SEG_NUM represents the unique identifier of a segment for scheduled offerings in the system. This alongside the offering id (SCH_ID) in the PA_SCH_SEG table is a primary key in the table. SSG_SEG_NUM internally is derived in the system using DB sequence PSQ_SCHED_SEGMENT.

This is not meant to be used for deriving functional interpretation of the segment like first segment, last segment etc.
