You have maintained the Availability Check Scope for product ABC as Stock for Planning Areas XXX and YYY. Hence you expect the system to check the available stock before proposing a Ship-From Location for a new Sales Order. However it is taking automatically Ship-From Location XXX, which has no available stock.
ABC = Product ID
XXX = Planning Area ID
YYY = Planning Area ID
SAP Business ByDesign.
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Sales Orders work center.
- Select New Sales Order common task.
- Choose View All.
- Fill all the required information.
- Go to Items.
- Select Add Row.
- Select the Product ABC.
Notice that the Ship-From Location being selected automatically is XXX and the ATP is red.
- Click Assign Source of Supply.
- Choose Ship-From YYY.
Notice that the ATP is green.
Source of Supply picks all the valid Locations based on the Transport Lanes defined, it never checks the stock. If both sites match the criteria (both Locations have valid Transport Lanes) so by default it takes the first found site: XXX.
You need to manually select the Location YYY when creating a Sales Order in this case.
