Symptom

How can we assign Credit Type and Credit Category to an Item?

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

Admin should be able to assign credit type and credit category to an item.

Resolution

Prerequisites:

1. Make sure that Custom Credits are enabled. Set System admin >Configuration > Module Tab > Advanced Component > CustomCredits.enabled=true

2. Make sure that the Admin has the proper workflows to perform the tasks:

i. view item custom credits

ii. edit item custom credits

3. Make sure that the "Custom Credits" tab is displayed on an Item. Go to System Admin > Configuration > Record Configuration > Item > Related Info (More) > Display "Custom Credits"

How to add Credit Type and Credit Category to an Item:

1. Go to an Item. Go to Related >> More >> Custom Credit Tab

2. Here you can choose a Credit Type ID and a Credit Category from the dropdown.

3. You can associate a value for this within the range configured in your system. To check the max value you can enter, go to System Admin --> Configuration--> System Configuration --> LMS_ADMIN -> maxDoubleValue

Tips:

1. Credit Category can be set to null.

2. The value cannot be below zero (negative number) and cannot exceed the max value set on "maxDoubleValue"

3. If a Credit Type or Credit Category is inactive, it will not show on the dropdown in the Custom Credit Tab

4. If you revise an item, the custom credits will NOT be on the new item, even if it was on the original revision.

5. If you copy an item, the custom credits will NOT be on the newly copied item, even if it was on the original version

6. You cannot add the same combination of Credit Type and Credit Category. For example, you have a credit type called "Credit1" and credit category of "Category 1". and a value of 100. You cannot add the exact same combination again as it will produce a validation error.

7. Credit types CAN be associated with inactive items.

8. Custom credits can be added to online ,other, blended and scheduled types of items.

9. Custom credits added to an item is retained after that item is made inactive.
