Is it okay to use an onSave business rule for generating Employee Time External Codes to overwrite the system generated codes?
Employee Central: Time Off
SAP does not recommend to use such a rule to overwrite the Employee Time External Code. The rule is added as onSave rule. But in time off, there can be technical saves of the EmployeeTime object and that would change the External Code again. Also, in an edit use case, the EmployeeTime is saved again which also changes the External Code. Hence, the best practice is to let system generate the codes.
