2591068 - Unable to maintain Communication Details like Phone, Fax, Mobile or Email for Contact

SAP Cloud for Customer, Business Partner Integration with Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Customers workcenter.
  2. Switch to Contacts view.
  3. Find and open Contact ABC.
  4. Notice that Communication fields in the Header are read-only.


  1. Switch to Relationships facaet for the Contact ABC.
  2. Select the relevant relationship with Account.
  3. Click Edit from main Actions.
  4. Try and maintain Phone, Email, Mobile or Fax information.
  5. Error message shown "Please add an address for organization.".


Header communication fields for Contacts are dependent on Account Contact relatioship address information, which is shown as Business Address for the contacts. If the corresponding account itself doesnt have address maintained, then contact's business address would be empty, hence these communication information cannot be maintained.


Maintain address information for the account, to do so,

  1. Go to Customers workcenter.
  2. Open Accounts view.
  3. Find and open Account for the corresponding Contact ABC.
  4. Switch to Addresses facet.
  5. Click Add for Addresses table.
  6. Maintain adequate address fields information.
  7. Click Add.
  8. Save the Account.

Now open the corresponding Contact ABC, and make sure Business Address is reflected properly, if not then manually assign the Business Address from the Account.

  1. Open Contact ABC.
  2. In Header information, open the drop down list for the field "Business Address".
  3. Select the address information, which was just maintained for the Account.
  4. Now all Communication Details can be maintained and edited for the Contact.
