2586394 - Error Message Regarding Fixed Asset Depreciation when Performing Balance Carryforward Run

When you try to perform a Carryforward Run for the Fiscal Period YYYY, you receive the following error messages:

• 'Depreciation pending for more than X fixed assets for fiscal year YYYY'
• 'Closing of YYYY not possible. Perform depreciation run for fixed asset AA'

(YYYY represents the year you are performing the Carryforward Run for).
(X represents the number of Fixed Assets affected).
(AA represents the affected Fixed Asset).

SAP Business ByDesign.

1. Go to the General Ledger Work Center.
2. Under Periodic Tasks select Balance Carryforward.
3. Click New and Select Carryforward Run.
4. Enter the parameters.
5. Click Start Now.

Error messages are displayed:

• 'Depreciation pending for more than X fixed assets for fiscal year YYYY'
• 'Closing of YYYY not possible. Perform depreciation run for fixed asset AA'

There are missing depreciations for Valuation View of the Fiscal Year YYYY.

If you open the Asset AA and navigate to the Values Tab. You can see that for the Set of Books AB, Fixed Asset  AA has several Valuation Views. Once you click in one of the Valuation Views, you can see that the Depreciation Status is in yellow for Fiscal Year YYYY: it means that a Depreciation Run must be performed.

To correct this issue, you need to post the depreciation of YYYY for all of the Valuation Views of Fixed Asset AA. It can be done by performing the depreciation run.

1. Go to the Fixed Assets Work Center.
2. Under Periodic Tasks select Depreciation.
3. Click New and select Fixed Asset Depreciation Run.
