Below are the steps to do a clean uninstall of Dashboards.

  1. First close all the open applications and then uninstall the Dashboards.
  2. Open the registry editor and first take the back up of Registry(File->Export)
    • Inside registry go to below location:
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE--->SOFTWARE----->Wow6432Node----->SAP BusinessObjects------->Suite XI4.0---->Xcelsius
    • Delete this Xcelsius folder.
  3. Restart the machine.
  4. There might be some left over folders in the Program files (x86)
    • Delete the Xcelsius 4.0 folder inside C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects .
  5. Turn off the antivirus.
  6. In the run command go to msconfig then click tools and change the UAC settings to never notify.
  7. Login to the machine using the administrator credentials and install the Dashboards.
  8. If the Dashboards while opening gives script errors then rename the startPage to startPageOld in the location C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Xcelsius 4.0\assets.
    • This will block the SAP advertisements which pop up when Dashboards is opened and we will get Page not found error on the canvas and this can be ignored .
