When launching a video Content Object on the browser, it throws the error below:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."

Reproducing the Issue
1. Login to LMS
2. Launch a video content
3. Get the error above
This is not an LMS issue. It's a browser issue (ie. it does not have the correct add-ons to play the video)
The error you are receiving is being thrown by a 3rd party software, not the LMS.
Please note that the LMS is not responsible for playing online content, instead, it is the web browser's responsibility to render and play online content.
