When you create an Activity Task, the owner gets a notification Task "<Task Subject/Name>" assigned to you is past due date , even though the due date is maintained in future.

Reproducing the Issue
Go to Activities work center.
- Go to Tasks view.
- Click on New to create a new Task ABC.
- Enter all the mandatory details and Save.
A notification 'Task "ABC" assigned to you is past due date' is sent to the owner of the Task.
In Business Configuration,Fine tune Activities, for Activity "Business Task Management for Overdue Task Activity for Owner" , under Task type details Activation Date maintained is 0 which means that the notification will be triggered as soon as the task is created.
For the notification to be triggered after the due date kindly maintain the Activation Date and Expiry Date in "Business Task Management for Overdue Task Activity for Owner" activity.
Based on the dates maintained here notifications will be triggered accordingly.
