2556714 - Not Able to Complete the Migration due to an Exception During Import

Symptom

You require to complete the Migration of any Object XYZ (where XYZ represents the Migration Object for example Migration of Employee and User Data). But you receive an exception during the Import:

A system error occurred during inbound processing in the target system
System Response Processing for this business object did not complete successfully

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign, SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Configuration work center
  2. Select Implementation Projects view or Overview
  3. Search and Open the activity Migration of XYZ
  4. Choose Migrate XYZ using the migration tool
  5. Execute Migration for the respective Migration File
  6. You receive the error message in the Import step

Cause

Issue may have been due to the number of instances being processed at a time. The Migration File size being more than 100 MB may have resulted in the performance issue. If the number of records in the Migration File are more, the performance will be relatively slow and the system will throw the exception.

Resolution

In case of such slow execution and exception, it is always advisable to optimize the Migration File. For a better performance of the migration tool, we recommend to upload the Migration File which does not exceed 100 MB.

Reduce the number of records in the Migration File and split the records into different files such that each file is not more than 100 MB and test the behavior of the file upload and execution in the migration tool.
