2545521 - Offline report is intentionally terminated - Report Distributor

Symptom

  • Offline report is intentionally terminated if the execution time exceeds 6 hours
  • Offline report is intentionally terminated if the memory consumed is excessive (and the report is unlikely to complete)

Environment

SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics (ANA) - All versions

Cause

Prior release b1708, any report run offline (including scheduled reports from Report Distributor) continued to run regardless of the total execution time. There was potential for the offline report to terminate in error or run unnecessarily.

Resolution

To prevent the use of excessive job server resources for reports run offline, either scheduled or not, three changes have been made which result in an email being sent to the report scheduler:

  • An offline report is intentionally terminated if the execution time exceeds the Maximum Allowable Execution Time (default is 6 hours)
  • An offline report is intentionally terminated if the memory consumed is excessive (and the report is unlikely to complete)
  • A scheduled report is assigned an expiry date (default is 3 months from start date) and it is suspended from running on this date if no change to the report schedule is made.

Note that an email will not be sent for schedules run from Report Centre if the Notify On Completion setting is turned Off.
