The Recruiting Marketing platform (RMK) is designed to help clients optimize their job marketing spend by tracking and reporting on activity from their job seekers. One attribute of tracking uses a standard internet practice of capturing the IP address of the site visitor. The IP Address is used in RMK to determine the publicly available information associated with the IP address and therefore may include Country, Region/State, City, Host Name, and Lat/Long coordinates for the address.
Recent legislation has determined IP Address could be considered Personal Identifiable Information (PII) because of the ability to cross reference the publicly available information associated with the IP address with other information to determine the identity of an individual. RMK associates the IP address with Visitors to determine the country and US State of the visitor and associates the additional information mentioned above with the Talent Community Members when available.
This article explains the use of IP Address within the Recruiting Marketing Platform and the available option to prevent capturing IP Address and how it will impact the use of the system.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS AND BEHAVIORS
Reporting Impact: Recruiting Dashboard
Turning off the tracking of IP Address will impact the reporting and data available in the Recruiting Dashboard.
The following reports rely entirely on the geographic data from IP address and will not produce an output:
- Visitors : Map
- Members : Map
- Applicants : Map
The following reports have a filter for Country and/or State and rely on the geographic location of the IP Address. They will not be usable if the user selects filter criteria for Country and/or Sate. The reports can still be run by the user without the selection from the Country and/or State filter.
- Visitors Tab: Search, Overview, By Date and Time, Segments, Mobile Overview
- Members Tab: Search, Overview (New), Overview
- Applicants Tab: Search, Overview, Applicants by Job, Unique Applicants Overview, Applicants by Job Overview
- Reports Tab: Source Report
Reporting Impact: Advanced Analytics
Turning off the tracking of IP Address will impact the reporting and data available in Advanced Analytics.
Advanced Analytics has a number of reports that allow data to be filtered by the "IP Country" dimension. This filter relies on the geographic location of the IP Address. If IP Address is not being captured, these reports will still function however selecting the IP Country filter will render the report blank since there will be no location data to populate it. Disabling the IP Country filter from the reports is currently not possible at this time.
