When creating or editing Subject Area you have an option to choose a Color and the field Color Preview will show you the Color of the with a default message saying "This will be the color of the Subject Area marker". However you cant see where is this color being applied to when you search for the catalog.
Reproducing the Issue
1. Go to References > Learning > Subject Area Marker
2. Add new or edit an existing Subject Area
3. Choose a color on the "Color" dropdown
4. Note that whatever color you have chosen on the field, it will reflect on "Color Preview" field
Our Product Management Team confirmed the following:
The new catalog doesn’t use the Color markers… this feature goes with the old catalog calendar that used to have little squares of color to indicate subject area. This should have been removed, and I’ll make a note of it. Your screenshot cut off the text chooser for the new banner, which is below the color area. The Banner styles below are the ones used in the new catalog. See screenshots below:
This feature is not being used anymore, although still present in the UI. Our PM will ensure that this will be removed we just dont have the exact timeline on when that will happen.
