2535291 - Update Location From Button Not Working on Registered Product

Symptom

You are trying to update the product location of a registered product, but it is not working as expected.

Environment

SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Products work center.
  2. Go to the Registered Products view.
  3. Open Registered Product ID ABC (ABC represents the ID of the Registered Product).
  4. Click on Update Location From > Bill To.
  5. The system defaults an address different from expected.

Cause

The Update Location From works based on one scoping question and on the addresses maintained inside the account.

Resolution

The Update Location From can take the address of either the Customer party or the ship-to party, depending on whether or not the scoping question: "Registered product uses customer address as the default location. Do you want to the use the Ship-to-party address instead?" is checked.

  • If the question is checked, the addresses maintained on the ship-to party will be used.
  • If the question is not checked, the addresses maintained on the customer party will be used.

In either case, you have on the Addresses tab the possibility to maintain more than one address, with different roles, as can be seen below:

When you click on Update from Location, the system will check these addresses, so if you select:

  • Update Location From > Main Address, system will check the address flagged as main on the ship to party if the business configuration question is checked or otherwise the one on the customer party.
  • Update Location From > Bill-To Address, system will check the address flagged as bill to on the ship to party if the business configuration question is checked or otherwise the one on the customer party.
  • Update Location From > Ship-To Address, system will check the address flagged as ship to on the ship to party if the business configuration question is checked or otherwise the one on the customer party.

One important thing to mention: There is also an option for bill-to and ship-to with 'Yes (Automatic)'. This is meant to be used only when only one address is maintained. This one will only be selected when the option Update From Location > Main Address is used.

Please note that this scenario is not supported as part of integration and will be taken as a new requirement for future releases.
