2533453 - How to Do a Product Count for a Product Has Zero On-hand Stock

Symptom

 You cannot do a product count a Product Has Zero On-hand Stock.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Physical Inventory Work Center.
  2. Select Common Task: New Product Count.
  3. Enter Storage Location ID XXX (XXX represents the storage Location ID).
  4. Enter Product ID YYY (YYY represents the product ID).
  5. Click Go.
  6. Click Next,and you receive an error message: Action not permitted; no product selected. 

Cause

 Product count works only for for product has non zero on-hand stock.

Resolution

 As a workaround, you can do an inventory adjustment for product that has zero on-hand stock.

  1. Go to Physical Inventory Work Center.
  2. Select Common Task: New Inventory Adjustment.
  3. Enter Storage Location ID XXX.
  4. Enter Product ID YYY.
  5. Click Go.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Click Add Row.

In step 6, you will not encounter error message as before and you are able to do inventory adjustment.
