2533277 - Errors When Creating Ticket from Sales Quote with Items

Symptom

You encounter certain errors when creating a ticket within a quote with items

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Sales Workcenter.
  2. Go to the Sales Quote View.
  3. Open the quote ABC (where ABC is the quote with a product on the item level)
  4. Navigate to the Tickets facet.
  5. Create a new ticket
  6. Following Errors are seen
  • Error in business conf.; item type code not determined; report incident
  • Error in business conf.; item type not valid; report incident
  • Item * : processing code is not valid. Please check   , where, * - is a number at which item has been defined

Cause

The item processing is not active for Ticket processing and therefore the error messages appear when trying to copy a quote with item(s) to ticket

Resolution

Maintaining Correct settings in Business Configuration solves the issue.

  1. Go to Business Configuration work center
  2. Then to Implementation Project View
  3. Click on Edit Project Scope
  4. Go to section "Scoping"
  5. Expand scoping element::Service->Customer Care
  6. And scope/check the 'Service and Repair' element.
