2531982 - Error Message 'Data type of data source field XYZ is not available' when creating a new data source

You have created an extension field and extended it to a data source. You also have checked the consistency and it should be working as expected. However, when you try to create a new data source and add this field the following error message is raised  'Data type of data source field XYZ is not available'.

• SAP Cloud for Customer
• SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Business Analytics work-center and Design Data Sources view.
2. Click on New button and New Data Source (Join or Combined).
3. Click on Add Row button and select the data source.
4. Define your data sources and join conditions.
5. Click on Save button.
6. See the error message 'Data type of data source field XYZ is not available'.

The extension field had some inconsistencies and needed to be repaired.

1. Access the Object on which your extension field is based.
2. Enter Adaptation Mode.
3. Go to Extension Fields tab.
4. Access the Further Usage.
5. Click on the Data Sources and Reports pane.
6. See the red lights on the status column.
7. Click on the button Repair.
8. See the green lights.
9. Click on the Publish button.
10. Exit Adaptation Mode.
11. Try to re-create your data source.
