2528713 - Failed to connect to system using Live Data Connection to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition via OAuth in SAP Analytics Cloud


After completing the configuration to connect to a Live Data Connection to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition via OAuth, you get the error: Failed to connect to system


If you capture your Chrome Developer tools, you can see the following error:

Request Method:GET
Status Code:500 Internal Server Error

Reproducing the Issue

You completed the required steps to use OAuth connections in S/4HANA according to SAP Analytics Cloud Documentation. When you click OK, you receive the error message.


The Communication Arrangement settings on S/4HANA Cloud ( are incorrectly set.


Logon to your S/4HANA and modify the Inbound Communication to set the Authentication Method to OAuth 2.0.
