When creating a new SAP Jam group using a group template you may notice that blogs are not included.
SAP Jam allows users to create groups using group templates. Blogs are not included in these templates.
Reproducing the Issue
In SAP Jam from the horizontial menu select:
- 'Ceate a Group'
- 'Topic-based Collaboration Template'
- Select a template
In SAP Jam when a blog is created the blog is editable only by the original author (unlike a wiki, where anyone can edit). If a template contains a blog and a new group is initially created from that template, the blog would have no author and therefore of no use.
As a workaround Admins can use content templates for blogs instead and encourage users to use these templates when creating new blogs. In the content template Admins can create the blog with some default content (e.g. photo(s) and text placement and this.
Content Templates can be found in 'Admin', 'Product Setup', Content Templates'
Content Templates page allows Admins to create templates for content, similar to the "Corporate Communication Blog Post Template" and the "Knowledge Base Wiki Template" that come as pre-built content template with your instance of SAP Jam.
